To Brighten Your Day!

When asked to help celebrate a friend's Mom's 90th birthday this week, I asked 'What's her favorite 'thing' or color?', since I really like to personalize my cards if possible.  I was truly relieved when she said, 'She loves pink roses.' and not some wild bird or house pet. Pink roses ~ I think I can handle that.

This is an older set, but has never been inked.  It was purchased from Sweet 'n Sassy (now Creative Worship) and is called Rose Banner.  I colored  the image with Copic markers.  The decorative die is from Pink Fresh, Ornate Banner die set and the '90' was die cut from a random numerical set.   I added three tiny pearl beads around the image, then added the white organza ribbon at the fold and tied a cross charm in the knot to complete the design.

I hope the pink roses will add another smile to the celebration of her special day!

The Perfect Shot

Join me in wishing my son Kevin a very Happy Birthday today!  Hard to believe that 45 years ago your arrival made me become a new Momma!

We were fortunate enough this year to have had Kevin stay overnight with us last week due to his work, so that gave us an early celebration!  I've tried to always cover something he has fun at doing for the theme of his cards.  This year, I selected hunting, another talent that he is very good at!

For his card I used an older masculine digital from The Artsy Stamper, named Outdoorsman.  In the digital format, this was three separate images, 1) the background, 2) the man and his dog, and 3) the birds both near and far.

I combined these three images to achieve the scene you can see on my card front, and used Copic markers to color the background and image.   I added the black liner mat, then a chocolate brown background mat.  After mounting both on the ivory  cardstock, I wrapped a black twine around fold and added a compass charm to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.

Have a Fabulous Birthday KEVIN!
