As parents and grandparents we all are amazed at how fast our children and grands grow up. In what seems like a blink of an eye, they go from the tiny baby to teenagers and then adults.
Those are my thoughts as I made this card for my grandson who just turned 15. I watched him being born and that truly seems like just the other day!
I know a lot 15 year old kids are standing in line at the DMV the day after their birthday... ever so anxious to get their beginners permit. Just as many parents are totally scared to death at the thought of their babies behind the wheel.
Here's the card I made for my grandson, filled with as many words of wisdom and caution as I could squeeze in!
Once I had it laid out like I wanted, I printed it on Neenah 110# cardstock and then colored the car with Copic markers.
When completed, I die cut the image using Whimsy Stamps Notched Square Die. I did trim off the bottom edge both to give a solid bottom and to remove the extra white space.
I used a light gray cardstock to make the custom size card base, as the finished card ended up being 5 1/2" x 6". After securing the striped matting and the colored image, I added Glossy Accents to the windows, then left it overnight to dry.
I think it turned out pretty good and I hope my grandson will like it too. It's definitely filled with love!

Great card, yes 15 is very young to learn to drive, I think it is still 17 in the UK. I might be wrong as I am not up to date with all that anymore. Your card is perfect for your Grandson. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely creation with us at We Love Stamping.

I am sure your grandson loved it. What an apt card and as Cathy pointed out you can't drive in the UK until 17 so putting a 15yr old behind the wheel feels quite daunting to us. Thanks for joining us at we love stamping xx
