Dear Santa, I Want It All

Oh... But I look like I've eaten it all already!

The parties are in full swing and the goodies and drinks are flowing! This adorable Stamping Bella bear and mouse pair have certainly found a comfy spot to take that much needed afternoon nap!

This image is 'Polar Bear on a Cupcake' by Stamping Bella.  I stamped it on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic* markers for coloring.  I used the Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the image and the Tattered Lace Nesting Beaded Chain Essentials Rectangle die for the striped mat.  The card is mounted on a 4x6 card base.  I added a sentiment from a piece of Christmas paper and several enamel dots.

Thanks again for stopping in to see today's Christmas card.

My Joy Overflows

Ready for more gorgeous Christmas plaids today?  Here we go with this beautiful little fairy named Merry Wishes with her basket of holly and stars!

Unfortunately this is a discontinued Whimsy stamp but if you're lucky enough to have her in your stash, she is certainly one of my favorite winter images for get well cards also.

For this card, I used Copic markers and the Penny Black Elegant Stitching Die for the image and a black liner matting.  For the green plaid I used the Tattered Lace Nesting Beaded Chain Essentials Rectangle die and mounted the card on a black 5 x 7 card base.  The Joy to the World sentiment comes from the Altenew Lyrical Script stamps.

Thanks for stopping to see today's Christmas card.  See you tomorrow.

Santa Claus is coming to Town

It's getting closer to the time of seeing Santa ~ and today's card has the jolly ole fellow and the Mrs. featured from Unity Stamp Co.

From designer Tierra Jackson, this is Santa and the Mrs.

I stamped the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used my Copic markers for coloring.  Since I wanted a dainty edge to go with the silver snowflake paper, I selected the Tattered Lace Nesting Beaded Chain Essential Rectangle Dies for all three layers.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  The red card base is 5 x 6 1/2" and I also added a white liner inside.

Be sure to click over to Unity Stamps to check out all the new Christmas stamps and great sales.  See you tomorrow with another Christmas card.

Sincerely Merry!

Today's Christmas card is using the Eclipse technique.  Have you tried this card technique before?  Rather than me trying to explain the technique, here's a short youtube video that shows several ways which will allow you to select the method that suits your style.

For my card, I used the Whimsy Stamp Co, DoveArt Ornament Background stamp.  Here's my completed card and then a few notes about creating the card.

I stamped the image on Neenah 110# card stock and used Copic markers* for coloring. The word "Merry" is a die from Altenew, and I used white index cards for my die cut Merry stacking.  The deep aqua background paper has a beautiful die cut edge using the Penny Black Elegant Stitching Die.  The completed card is mounted on a standard A2 size base and I used a marigold yellow organza ribbon.

I've also entered this card in the following challenge(s):

Have Yours-ELF a Jolly Holiday

Today's Christmas card is I think my favorite new stamp of all the new Christmas images I've done.  It's by Penny Black and it's called Bauble Balance. Even though it's a mini stamp, it's a powerful image as this little fellow is carrying three huge ornaments bigger than he is!

I stamped the clear stamp on Neenah 110# card stock and used Copic markers for coloring.  For the background I used a Dylusions Bubbles Stencil by Ranger and my Quick Quotes Blue Jean Chalking Ink.  The die cut edges are done with the Penny Black Elegant Stitching dies. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and is also mounted on the blue card stock.  I covered a 5 x 7 card base with the silver embossed holly and berry patterned paper then mounted the card pieces and finished the card with a double looped organza bow.  Definitely one of my top favorite cards!

Today I'm bringing you another Christmas card, this one with Stampendous' Christmas image named Wondrous Kitten.

Warm Tea and Holiday Wishes

When Polka Dot Orchard released the new Digi stamp set 'She Said Tea', by Artist Jessica Pickeral, I just had to giggle.  With it's companion set 'He Said Coffee' Jessica has really put together two great packages with so many cute and humorous possibilities.

However for today's Christmas card, I had a special person in mind when I decided on my design.  I wanted a more antique and dainty card with ribbons and flowers.  Here's my card with a few mixed embellishments added.

After sizing the image and adding the sentiment, I colored the image with Copic markers.  I used the Tattered Lace Nested Beaded Chain Square dies for all of the matting pieces.  The second layer is a burgundy and rose burlap paper and the back matting is a cream pattern.  I love the dainty flowers on the antique tea cup in this set and was able to match them closely with the tiny dusty rose and burgundy fabric flowers I added.  The crinkle ribbon bow is my favorite on the entire card.  It's hand-dyed, hand-crinkled ribbon from Polka Dot Orchard also! I used Seafoam for the ribbon on this card.  I think it gave it the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping in to see today's Christmas card.  I hope you will be back by tomorrow.

For This Child We Have Prayed

About a month ago, I was asked to make a card for our ladies church group to use with our baby shower gift for our Pastor's daughter's first baby.  I knew they wanted lots of books for their new baby boy, but nothing was coming together just right.  Then I received the photo of the gifts that had been purchased.  Right there in the center was Baby's First Bible Stories and the cover was Noah's Ark. Why of course ~ a card with Noah's Ark!  And Whimsy Stamps has the perfect one!

Here's my finished card for the proud parents and a few details about making it.

Whimsy Stamps, Noah's Ark by designer Crissy Armstrong

The image is printed on Neenah 110# Card Stock, cut to 6 3/4" square. I used Copic* markers for coloring and Copic multi-liners.  The clouds are die cut using Gina Marie Designs, Stitched Sky dies and the Rainbow is die cut using Papertrey Ink, Rainbow Circles Die.

I typed and printed the sentiment in several fonts and sizes until I found one that appealed to me, then trimmed closely and added a cranberry red mat and glued them in place at the bottom of the card.

Next, I cut two pieces ~ 8" x 9", out of the navy paper to make the card base.  I folded the long end back 1" on opposite ends and on the side that will show, I trimmed with Fiskar Seagull fancy cut scissors. Then I glued these together to make it like a 'folder'.

I printed the sentiment 'For This Child We Have Prayed', and cut it down to about 7" square (centered) and glued to the inside right hand side of the card, for the ladies to sign.

Of course I had to try it out in the frame to be sure it all fit together!  At the shower, the card went well with all the gifts the new soon to be parents received.  I'm sure they will find a special spot for Noah's Ark to watch over their new baby as they read him many stories from the Bible.

Thanks for hanging with me through this LONG blog today!

Horns of Joy

I'm here today with another Christmas card from my desk to share with you.    I've used the Whimsy /DoveArt Stamps, Christmas Horns.

I used my Penny Black Elegant Stitching die for the image piece and used the "JOY" die from Pink and Main, Christmas Window Die set. The card is made on a 5 1/2" card base.  Next, I put the red plaid paper on the base and positioned the horns and the 'JOY' stitched die cut.

This is a great image to color and works up quickly into a nice card.   Thanks for stopping by too!
