Flying for a Cure

This afternoon I'm back to share another Design Team Halloween card, this time from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps.  Challenge 178 is now open and you can see my DT card along with the other ladies cards.

I selected 'Witch on a Broomstick' for this challenge and she turned out to be my favorite of all the Halloween cards I've done so far for this season!

After printing the image I used Copic markers for my coloring and selected non-traditional colors, mostly shades of magenta and aquas.  I used a large roll of tape as my 'circle' to lightly trace and add the large moon behind the flying witch.  Then I fussy cut the completed image out and inked the edges.

I think I tried 25-30 pieces of paper trying to find just the right one for the background - thinking I needed a dark or twinkly sky.  But when I came across this piece, I knew I'd found it! The shades were perfect and the LOVE Heart was an additional plus!

I used the Cheery Lynn Heart Edge Square die for the edges of the image, then secured it to the magenta mat and then to the white card base.  With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, I made and added the sentiment 'Flying for a Cure'.  I secured it in the top left corner and then  added a few lavender pearls around the witch to complete the design.

Thanks for stopping by to see what I've been working on.  I hope you'll visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog to see the other team members cards and enter your ADU image cards too!

Teuta the Black Cat

Good morning!  Today I'm posting with the ladies from the Classic Design Blog Challenge as we open the next challenge,  For October/November we have Mirtillamente as our sponsor and we also have a sketch design as our optional twist.

Here's my completed card, then a few details about it.

I selected Mirtillamente with Le Pine ~ Teuta Black Cat and used the provided  sketch challenge.

I simply printed the image far enough over to allow room for the circle die.  For that I used Craft Fancy, Reverse Scallops die and inked the edges.   I used a dark purple with gold fleck cardstock for the right panel and a bright orange for the left panel. Both of these were die cut using the memory box matinee rectangle layers die before securing the layers to the card base as shown in the photo.  I added fun foam to the right half of the image circle to keep it level with the rest of the design as I was assembling.  Also I added the thin strip of gold washi on the orange mat, the lavender organza ribbon and the three random gold bling dots.

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I've been working on.  I hope you'll check out the Classic Design blog and add your card to the challenge!

Be Strong in the Lord

Good morning from the Design Team with Word Art Wednesday as we are opening weeks 774-775 of our Anything Goes challenge.  Our sponsor for this two week event is Poppy Stamps who is offering a $25 gift certificate also.

Our featured scripture is from Ephesians 6:10 which you'll remember you can receive your free download from the Word Art Wednesday site.

For my Design Team card, I used a Poppy Stamps die I've had for many years,  The Bountiful Sunflower is a two piece die which allows additional layer of dimensional effects.

I used a background piece that appeared to have been 'grunged' and 'splattered'.  After die cutting and assembling the flower I added it just to the left of the center of the background.  On the computer, I stretched the sentiment vertically to fit the card design, printed it and trimmed to size.  I made this card while at a weekend retreat and the challenge that hour was to make a card with the word 'family'.  Lucky me!   I found the word on one of the scrap papers, big enough to make the tag for my card.  Complete!

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll pop over to the Word Art Wednesday Blog to see the current challenge and to enter your anything goes card too.

Cruizin By

Today I'm sharing a special card I made for one of our church friends who recently celebrate his 75th birthday!

Johnathan has many talents and is very active so we had a hard time deciding on the image and theme for his card.

But since my husband and I have never known anyone 'of this age' trying to qualify for the senior olympics, the bike image won.

The stamp is Enjoy the Ride from Art Impressions.   It was also perfect to include their dog Penny and his wife Rosemary.    You can imagine the fun and laughter we all shared when he opened the card in our small church group supper.

I can always go to my stash of Art Impression stamps when I need a humorous image!   This was another big hit!

Happy Birthday Johnathan!

Here's to many more and to success in your race too!
