Happy Un-Birthday!

Today I'm excited to share Moondrea Designs 'Mad Hatter', Andreia Silva's new image for June.

How fun is this!

I truly had so much fun deciding what bright and bold Copic colors to use on each part of this image.  Then when I looked for a matting piece, I couldn't believe my luck!  What a great match!!!

I added the black liner mat and secured each later to the black card base. In my family we always celebrate a birthday for a month.  When I read the highlights of the Alice and Wonderland story again and came across the celebration of all the Un-birthdays 364 days, I had to add that for the sentiment.

I wanted something dimensional to complete the design.  With a lot of searching I finally found a small clock charm and tied it using black twine wrapped around the top of the card fold.  Lastly I added clear wink of Stella for a little sparkle here and there and my card is complete.

Hope you like her as much as I do!  Can't wait to see Andreia's next image in this series.  I wish her many get well wishes as she is currently recovering from eye surgery.

Be Strong

Good morning! Can you believe we are halfway through 2026 and in the month of July?  If you are having the heat like we are, you are well aware that we will be ready for cooler fall weather any time!

Our weather was a driver in making today's card.  Today we're opening the Weeks 760-761 of Word Art Wednesday.  Our sponsor for this edition is Miss Ink Stamps who is offering a $25 gift certificate to the winner.

Our featured scripture for this challenge is 2 Chronicles 15:7 and is available to you as a free download on the Word Art Wednesday blog

For my Design Team project card, I used the C. C. Designs, Beach 20's stamp set and selected one of the boy stamps.

I started by stamping the 'strong man' stamp to the left of center and colored him with my Copic markers.  I love his little muscle arm ~ goes great with the featured scripture.

I've been following the Andrea Nelson 30 day Water Coloring challenge and I repeated day two, the beach background, for my card background.  I didn't use watercolors on this, but used Copic markers to continue what I started with the image.

After trimming the edges of the image, I added the yellow cardstock matting, then added both pieces to the blue green card base.  I inked the sentiment/scripture with the same green ink as the card base, then added a layer of foam to the back and secured it to the card front near the bottom right.

I hope you will join our challenge on the Word Art Wednesday blogsite.  I'd love to see what you're making!

Faith and Freedom ~ 250 Years

How many of you would raise your hand if asked 'Do you purchase the 6" wooden trays of laser cut wooden designs?'  They are always at Hobby Lobby, nine designs and three of each, not only for the holidays but for many events.

I seem to always find a set or two in the clearance section after a holiday or seasonal event.  They are a great buy ~ but only if you use them.  Last week I ran across a box of Patriotic  symbols.  I stopped then and painted a handful of them, determined to make something!

With time running short, I finally got a few cards made.  One  I'd like to share with you today as we celebrate our Faith and Freedom for 250 years!

Pinterest inspired with the basic design, I added several items to make it my own.  I have plenty of wooden pieces left over for next year!

Happy Birthday America!
Count your blessings every day!
