My Hero

Today we're sharing another round of this new images from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps.  I've selected the new 'Little Captain' image for my Design Team Card and made this masculine Hero card.  The sentiment could be changed to a Thank you for your service or for any other masculine event with this adorable image by Wendy Burns

I used Copic markers for coloring the image and then added a few stenciled stars with Fossilized Amber Distressed Oxide. I also printed the computer generated sentiment.

After selecting several coordinating patterned pieces I used the Gina Marie Designs Venetian Labels die set for the image/ matting and sentiment.   All are secured on a 5 3/4" square card base with the fold at the top.  Lastly, I added the navy organza ribbon at the top fold and a gold-tone button at the knot.

I hope you will join us on the All Dressed Up Blog Challenge with your cards using an image from All Dressed Up Digital Stamps.  Be sure to check out all the Design Team cards too for your inspiration.

Peace & Comfort

Today I'm back with the Design Team and the next challenge with Word Art Wednesday - Challenge weeks 703-704.  Our featured scripture is Ephesians 3:20, which is a free download on the challenge blog!

This week's sponsor is Not 2 Shabby so be sure to enter your cards on the challenge for a chance at winning their prize!

To me this scripture is soothing and perfect for a sympathy card.  I selected this sunny mountain river scene from Angie Blom's Dream Big Mountain digital package and colored with Copic markers.

I used Penny Black's Elegant Stitching Rectangle die set for the image and the dusty rose colored matting and then secured both to the yellow cardstock card base.  Then I added the Peace & Comfort strip at the bottom and the selected scripture near the top to complete the card designs.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I always hope that you'll follow my blog and visit often.  Click here to visit the Word Art Wednesday blog to see the other Design Team cards and enter your cards too!

Hello Summer

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps as we open the new monthly Challenge #163.  For today's posting I've selected 'SUMMER'.

After printing, I used Copic markers for coloring this adorable image and added several die cut palm trees to the background along with a die cut 'hello' in the top corner.   After trimming, I added a coordinating green mat and then mounted both pieces on a purple card base.  For a final touch I added the orange organza ribbon and bow at the top fold.

I hope you will join our challenge with your All Dressed Up card and check out the other Design Team cards also on the new ADU Challenge #163

Happiness is Shared

The June/July edition of the Classic Design Challenge is now open and full of beautiful cards using images from our sponsor 'Sheepski Designs'.

As always the challenge is 'Anything Goes' with the optional twist this time of 'Vacation/Holiday'.

I've selected 'Tropical Bird' as a vacation to a nice tropical island sounds perfect to me today!

There are lots of colorful tropical birds with many color combinations, which made it fun but a challenge to decide on which Copic colors to use.  I've always liked the deep blues and bright yellows and they worked great together on this image too.

The decorative edge was die cut using Gina Marie Designs Elegance Eyelet Rectangle Die set both for the image and the green marble patterned background.  I used a yellow card base and a solid green base mat, then secured the marble patterned mat and the colored image.  I die cut several tropical leaves out of a different green patterned paper and added them randomly around the tropical bird.  Lastly I added the chipboard sentiment in the right corner and an orange sparkly organza ribbon at the fold to complete the card design.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you'll check out the Classic Design Challenge and enter your card in their challenge too!

Be Strong

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for Word Art Wednesday as we share the new scripture from 2 Timothy 2:1 in challenge 702-703.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Taylored Expressions, so be sure to enter your cards on the Word Art Wednesday challenge for your chance to win their prize!

For today's scripture I wanted to use a masculine image. I selected this cowboy silhouette die from my stash and die cut him with black cardstock.

For the background I used a thick watercolor paper and distressed oxides to mix various shades until I had a sunset background and a water/grassy area in the center.  Then I secured the die cut cowboy over that area.

The scripture from 2 Timothy is free on the challenge by simply right clicking and saving to your computer files.  I sized the verse down to fit my card space and used a Spellbinder die cut then mounted in the corner.

I matted with the coordinating plum cardstock and then secured to a black card base.  For the finishing touch I added a gold twine rope around the top fold and tied in a bow.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:
