A Dozen Boos!

Today I'm sharing a set of Halloween cards I made for a few of my girlfriends.   I found this really cute die from Poppy Stamps called Twisted Houses, and decided to grab a dozen!  This is what I came up with followed by a few of the details on how they are put together.

Using the purple cardstock for the houses was a really good choice since I was able to use the reverse side also.  Then I die cut the black fences along with the white ghosts and 'Boo!' sentiment.   The backgrounds that I used are digitals from Creative Fabrica

By the time I die cut everything for twelve cards I had a tableful of little stacks of papers!

But the results were just what I wanted ~ A Dozen Boos!

Lovely Fairy Bauble

Today I'm posting with the Design Team for All Dressed Up Digital Stamps as we share another round of inspirational cards with this month's new images.

For my project card I'm using All Dressed Up Digital Stamps, Fairy Bauble, which I've made into this Christmas card.

I love this image and hope to make a few more cards similar to this one.  Any time you're doing a digital image and placing it in a frame or shape, getting it just the right size is usually the hardest part of the card.  This was definitely the case with this little fairy!

After coloring her with my Copic markers I realized I didn't have an oval die that would cut to fit 'under' the gold ban of the snowflake die.  You know the drill - too small or too big!   Then being late in the afternoon, after tracing the oval using the die, I managed to hand cut it too small!  How frustrating.  My attempts to fix it just made it worse!

Round two, I sized the image a bit smaller, allowing more space on the layout page, and traced in a different spot on the die to get my oval cut line. Thankfully that worked much better.

I used metallic gold cardstock for the frame - Poppy Stamps Diamond Snowflake Oval Poppy Die and thick cardstock designer paper for the holly and berries - Memory Box, Holly Bouquet.  After securing to burgundy cardstock, I added the image to the 4 1/2" x 6" card base. I used an aqua metallic jelly roll pen for the snowflakes and added clear Wink of Stella to the wings. Lastly I added the premade 'Joy' embellishment on raised foam at the bottom corner to complete the design.

My Person

Today I'm sharing card four of six with the Penny Black 'little kids' stamps.  This image is from the Growing in Love set.

After stamping, I used Copic markers for the coloring and the Pink and Main Stitched Rectangle die for the edging.   The sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions Sentiment Strips.

I selected the coordinating patterned paper and secured it to the card base,  and then added the horizontal die cut lacey strip.  Next I added the completed image and then the sentiment across the bottom.

My Little Mummy

It's time for a new challenge on the All Dressed Up Digital Stamps Blog and if you entered last month be sure to check to see if you were the winner!

For my Design Team project for October, I've selected the image 'All Dressed Up for Mummy' and here's my finished card.

 Isn't he adorable?

After sizing and printing I used my Copic markers for the coloring and shaded the background with Copic R00.   I used the Pinkfresh Studios, Ornate Banner Die for the decorative die cut edge on the image and the brown matting.

I secured the orange patterned paper to the A2 size card base, then added the mat and completed image in the center.  Lastly I added the thin strip of gold washi tape across the top and the pumpkin button embellishment at the left corner to complete the card design.

Enjoy Your Day Princess

Today we are welcoming in the October Classic Design Challenge. We are grateful for our two sponsors this month, The Paper Shelter and Paper Nest Dolls.

For my project card, I selected Spa Day Ellie from the Paper Nest Dolls.

I stamped the image separately and Copic colored her then fussy cut her out and set her aside.  For the background, I used the Unity Stamp, Pure Happiness and then the Gina Marie Designs Dotted Rectangle die for the edge.

I selected a top fold card base and added the green mat and then the secured Ellie to the right side of the image.  To finish the card, I added the hunter green twine around the top fold and tied the small bow.

Heart Happy

I'm moving to the second set of Penny Black, Inc. 'kid couple' images in this series of postings.  This set is called 'Growing in Love' and today's card is one of the two stamps.

What a perfect topiary he's made for his sweetheart!

After stamping this adorable image, I used my Copic markers for coloring and used Copic E01 for lightly shading the background.

I used a pale pink cardstock to make the 5" x 6" top fold card base.  For the decorative edge on the image and the mauve matting, I used the Gina Marie Designs Label 2.  I really fell in love with the shades and style of the skeleton leaves paper in the background.  I secured it first to the card base, then added the mat and completed image.  I also popped up the sentiment strip after matting, and added it at the bottom right corner of the card front.   I actually have room to add a bow to the left of the image but until I'm ready to mail the card, I've elected to hold off on adding it today.

You Are My Sunshine

Today I'm sharing part two of the Penny Black Endearment stamp set.  I shared the first one on my October 9th blog if you missed it.

After stamping the image, I used my Copic markers for the coloring.  I used Copic E01 to lightly shade in the background, giving it a warm sunset feeling.   I used the Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangle die for the decorative edge.

After securing the checkered background on the top fold card base, I added the image and the half round deep aqua flap at the top.  I had a scrap of 'sunshine' left from the previous card, which I trimmed to fit to the bottom of the flap.

The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Sentiment Strips and is mounted on foam before adding to the card base.  Lastly I added the organza ribbon at the top fold and a tiny heart charm at the knot to complete the design.

So Sweet

One of my online crafting friends shared a couple of Penny Black sweet 'kid couple' cards back a month or so ago and I just fell in love with them.  I found out they were from the set 'Endearment' and there were actually two additional sets (Growing in Love and Sweet Duo) that have the same kids.   You guessed it - I had to have all of them for my Penny Black collection.  Over the next week or so, I'll be sharing my cards using the two images from each set.  I hope you will enjoy them even half as much as I enjoyed Debra Peterson's inspirational cards.

The first one is using one of the stamps from the Endearment set, done as a Thank You card.

I used Copic markers for the coloring and Gina Marie Designs X-Stitched Oval Dies for the decorative edge and the burgundy matting.  The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions Sentiment Strip dies.

I cut the yellow cardstock to a 5 1/2" side fold card base.  When I pulled the multi colored paper for the background I really wasn't too sure about it but it really makes this card perfect!

Ghost Stories Told Here!

Sometimes the best 'posting' intensions fall through just like everything else.  When I left for a weeks vacation on September 22nd,  I had all my Design Team cards made and scheduled to post pending adding the challenges.

Who could predict the path of Hurricane Helene would swing wide to the east and through South and North Carolina leaving the path of destruction and major losses that we know of today, two weeks later.

My apologies to Morgan's ArtWorld fans for my late posting of my Design Team card.  Our power has been returned and hopefully our lives will start to follow suit.

My creative card for this team was made using Morgan's Halloween 4.

For this card I wanted to add a scenic background to the Halloween lady image.  I gathered several other digital images and layered the background.  Next I layered Morgan's Halloween 4 image and positioned her in the foreground near the pathway.

After printing and coloring with Copic markers, I added the deep purple matting and mounted on the yellow 6" square card base.  Both sentiments were die cut and mounted on  yellow cardstock then added to the card scene to complete the design.

Be sure to visit Morgan’s ArtWorld

for more images and to see the other Design Team cards. We’d love for you to join us in the monthly challenge!
