What Will I Do Without You?

Today we're kicking off a new week at Colour Crazy Challenge blog with Dr. Digi as our sponsor.  

I've selected Patient Pets for my project card today and made a window card dimensional with fall leaves outside.  Here's the completed card then a few details on how I made it. 

When  you purchase the digital image it actually looks like this

I sized the image to about 2 1/4" x 3 3/4", then printed and colored with my Copic markers and carefully cut it out.  I used an X-acto knife for cutting the smaller areas inside the image and went back and recolored all the 'white' edges after cutting. This is an important step to make your card look more finished.

The next is to prepare the card base to look like a 'wall'.  I selected a small print for the 'wallpaper' and added the strip at the bottom for the baseboard molding.  I used a black background matting giving the animals a base to sit on so they were 'grounded'.  Then I added the miniature leaf print to the back of the colored image, putting 1/4" foam tape around all the edges for depth.  I added several extra pieces under the animals for support also.   After securing them to the card base with the foam tape (and a little extra glue if needed), I added the fishtail cut sentiment and the black organza bow to complete the card.
