Today I'd like to share with you a special sympathy card that I was asked to make. My client's best friend's father had passed on to heaven and she needed a special card for her.
Not knowing any other details as I thought about what might be appropriate, I was reminded how close I always feel to God when I am walking on the beach shores. I know God is always with me, but I don't think I'm the only one that feels that extra closeness by the sea.
With that thought in mind, I selected Unity Stamp Company's, Patience Girl for the main image of this card. For the sentiment, I used the 'experience' quote by Corrie Ten Boom which came from Sweet & Sassy, The Future Set. I know that these two best friends were put together a long time ago to lean on each other through tough times, like the lost of a parent, by our Heavenly Father.
I made this card by stamping the Unity Stamp image on Neenah 110# cardstock and coloring with my Copic markers. The decorative edging on the image and the matting papers was gotten by using Penny Black's Elegant Stitching Rectangle Dies. After die cutting, returned the colored piece to my Misti and stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine black ink. The layers were then matted on a standard A2 sized card base.
