I don't know about you, but I'm thrilled that today is FRIDAY! After a little mini vacation last weekend, this has been a very long week. As I colored this Lili of the Valley image (Fab Fisherman), it truly calmed my soul. By adding the clouds behind the image, the depth increases making him look even smaller and even more isolated as he fishes all by himself.
Some days we need to be alone. We get so caught up in the hustle of the world and our daily issues, we seek just a few quiet minutes to think or just to relax. I know my husband and I love our 'porch time' here, where we can spend a few minutes or a few hours and never say a word. That peaceful time revives our souls, recharges our batteries, helps us to refocus ourselves for the next day's goals.
What about you? Where do you find your time to recharge?
For this card, I printed the image on Neenah 110# cardstock and used Copic markers for coloring. The decorative edging was done using Gina Marie Designs Nested Labels 3.

ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for joining us at Creatalicious! :)
Oh your 'porch time' speaks to my soul. My hubby and I have a phrase we picked up from a series we watched years ago (Wallander): 'Someone to sit with', and it means the same to us as your 'porch time' - someone who knows your soul, by your side, while you soak up God's awesome presence and creation, without the need for words. I made an anniversary card for my hubby back in 2018, focusing on this phrase, if you're interested in seeing it ( http://lindamscreations.blogspot.com/2018/10/pennys-paper-crafty-challenge-404.html )
ReplyDeleteYour card is wonderful! That sky behind him is so beautiful, and the perfect background to emphasise the quietness of his experience. Adorable image! Thanks for sharing this with us at Digi Doodle Studios!

Such a sweet image Pam, and so beautifully used on this gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a specific place to sit apart in, but time with the Lord is always refreshing, no matter how brief, or where!
Stay safe
Blessings
