Swap Table Finds ~ Oh Boy!

Recently I was lucky enough to attend a four day crafting retreat in Virginia.  With the every present threat of being cancelled due to the virus, everyone who attended really tried to use extra precautions throughout the event to keep us all safe while still enjoying our crafting time.  

Like at most of these type scrapbooking / cardmaking / general crafting events, the hostess had set up a 'swap table' for anyone to add to or grab something that they might need to use while at the event.  I had taken Unity Stamp Company's  'A Beauty All It's Own' by artist Phyllis Harris,  with me to make for my crafting BFF's Christmas card, but had no real plan on the layout.  As I was looking through some of the paper, I picked up the deep aqua solid paper (similar to Copic BG72 - one of my favorites)  Then I saw this pink definition paper with snowflakes on it.. that looked interesting.   I dug a little more and found a small bottle about half full of white and silver snowflake confetti.  This is looking more like a treasure for sure!  Back to my work table I go with somewhat of a plan now.

I started by stamping the image directly onto the pink snowflake paper and then using my Copic markers for the coloring.  I used BG72, BG75 and BG78 for the scarf and tights and R17, R27, R37 for her jacket and the cloth in the basket.  For the basket I used E27 and E37.  I also used Versafine black in and stamped a miscellaneous Christmas sentiment.  

Next I used Nellie Snellen's Muliti Frame Booklet Square Die set and cut the colored image.  To make the frame I used the same die as I did for the image and then skipped down two sizes, which gave me about a 1/4" frame.  I also trimmed a piece of acetate the same size. 

To make the shaker I glued the acetate to the frame, then added double sided foam tape.  I secured the colored image to the matching card base that I had made from the swap table paper and carefully put about a tablespoon of the snowflakes in the center.  After removing the backing from the foam tape, I added it to the top of the image, securing it around all the edges of the frame so the confetti wouldn't come out.

For the final touch I added a white organza ribbon with a snowflake charm across the top of the card.  

And here's my completed shaker card made mostly from the treasures of the swap table.
