This week my very best friend celebrated her birthday and her retirement! Cindy and I have been best friends for over 58 years! When I saw the sentiment in Polka Dot Orchard's Good Morning Spring package, I knew it would be perfect to use on her card.
I also selected A Sprinkle of Flowers by PDO artist Jeanie Hays. I love the big boldness of her rose and double buds.
To make this card, I selected the large rose and sized it to fill about two-thirds of an A2 sized card front. I used Copic markers for coloring and the Penny Black Elegant Stitching for the edges. I also printed the selected sentiment from the other package and die cut it using the same set.
For mounting, I made a 5 1/2" square card base out of a pale yellow card stock and added an embossed pink matting to cover all but about 1/8" around the edge. I added the colored image to the bottom left and the sentiment to the top right, leaving about 1/2". Lastly I added a light pink double organza bow at the top fold. My special friend's card was complete.
Thank you for stopping by today. I enjoy sharing my work
with you and invite you to “Follow” my blog and to visit my site ~ “Not JustScraps” on Facebook ~ where you can purchase my cards and other crafting items.
