2 Crafty Critter Crazies - New Challenge #36!
Hard to believe it's March 1st and time for a new month of postings for the monthly challenge at 2 Crafty Critter Crazies! This month our sponsor is our very own Donna Ellis, sharing her Great Horned Owl image with our Design Team. Click HERE to see all the beautiful cards made by the team members!
Here is my project card for the month ~ Believe in Yourself
For my card, I selected the Black & White image and sized him to about 3" x 4" knowing I was going to use a 5.5" square card base. I used Copic markers for coloring this wise old fellow and for the background also.
For the borders, I selected a gray mat and die cut both the mat and the image using one of the My Favorite Things Stitched Scallop Basic Edges dies. I also used the gray for printing the sentiment from the same digital package and die cut it with the Gina Marie Designs Nesting Labels 2 smallest die. After mounting all the elements, I added a small leaf branch as a finishing touch.
Donna's Great Horned Owl package comes with several versions that you really should check out - Black & White and several colored versions. Visit her @ https://creativesmiles2.blogspot.com

Thank you!
DeleteI love how the color of the moon is the same color in the owls feathers! Your sky looks amazing and the way you die cut the owl out looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Lori.
DeletePam, you and I had a similar vision for this great set from Donna! I wasn't brave enough to try doing the sky with Copics though... I went with oxide inks and got a darker result. I love the addition of the die cut borders to your card and the overall layout. Well done!
ReplyDeleteI loved yours also and almost went with oxides. All of our cards came out amazing!
